Bedtime Bestiary - Plush beasts from myths and legends!

This update might be a little more thrilling if y'all hadn't raised so much since my last check-in, but...yeah lol. We've unlocked both the peryton and unicorn already!!

I hastily drew some pin versions to celebrate and if I have time I'll add a second pin for each creature like all the previous ones, but for now I thought something was better than nothing 😅

The hundun will be our next unlock at $90k and around $100k I should have even more concept art to share based on the results of the first poll! I see gargoyle, wyvern, and cockatrice are the current top 3 after the peryton and unicorn, so I'll be sketching up some ideas to share by next week.

I know I said I'd have some new stretch goals ready this afternoon, but I think it'd be more fun to involve the backers in this process, so I've got a poll for you!! The peryton and unicorn are neck and neck and I need you to weigh in and decide who is unlocked first--poll down below!

(To quell any potential concerns or disappointment, both will be added to the campaign, this is just to determine the unlock order 😉)



In other news I received a kelpie update shortly after making yesterday's update! The new one is indeed MUCH better. The colors are close to final and the materials are mostly right. Now we dial in the shape and proportions and soon we'll have the perfect sea horse 💖

I always think I'll have more time to prepare things, and you guys always blow my expectations out of the water! 😂 I'm not complaining though-- thank you thank THANK YOU!!

We're only 8 hours in and everyone is unlocked! That means the gryphon, manticore, dragon, tatzelwurm, werewolf, AND kelpie are all guaranteed to be produced! Now we can turn our attention to what's next and you better believe we're not done.

Taking your feedback into account, I'll have a new batch of stretch goals ready by tomorrow afternoon and the fun can continue 🎉 Now let's talk about prototypes!

Currently the tatzelwurm, werewolf, and kelpie are all in various stages of development. The werewolf is coming along swimmingly and almost done, I just want to exaggerate the widows peak a bit and increase the eye size and then this pup can finally come home!



The tatzelwurm is proving to be a bit more challenging, but we're inching closer with each iteration. The muzzle still needs adjusting to be less prominent and the claws are way too yellow at the moment. I may also make some adjustments to the body so that they're sufficiently floppy...we'll see! It's very important to me that they're both cuddly and posable though, so I won't stop until they match my vision. 



I shared this in a previous update but in case you missed it, here is where we stand with the kelpie currently. I imagine we'll receive another sample update this week, so I should have more exciting pictures to share then!



Now that the dragon is unlocked, I'll be paying for their sample next and the odds are high we'll receive an update before the campaign ends! Stay tune my friends! This project is evolving daily and I can't wait to see where we end up in the next few weeks 💖

All gryphon related items are unlocked, and by the time I finish posting this I'm sure the manticore will be next. To celebrate, how about I share some of what's in store if we blast through all our funding goals 👀

I've had my eyes on the peryton for ages now, and I think they'd be a perfect fit for the bedtime beasts for obvious reasons!

This one's a bit weirder, but what can I say-- I love an unconventionally cute critter. This is the hundun, a creature from Chinese mythology that is typically depicted without a face but I'm nothing if not consistent so of course I had to give our primordial chaos ball a cute, chompy mouth. Wouldn't they make a great pillow??

I tried my darndest to keep this campaign on the simple side because I have a tendency to uh....get a lil' carried away lol, but!!! There's still a lot of cool stuff in store and I'd like to share some of it now!

First up is a sneak peek at the available bundles for my go-big-or-go-home backers who- like me -don't know how to do anything in moderation. Please let me know if there are any other bundles you'd like to see! 
 



Then I have a surprise for my werewolf enthusiasts-- the vinyl face wolf is ready for adoption! The final price may change slightly before launch as I receive further feedback from my supplier on our specialized packaging requirements and their cost (no one wants these adorable faces damaged in transit 😭) but this is pretty close to what you'll see on launch day.



I've also been trying to crank out a few more sleepy pins to set the mood and I just really adore this one. I think it'd look super cool gold or bronze plated 👀 Who do we want more artwork of next?
